I really like the ideas here, especially that metallic wub that happens from time to time, but there's still a few problems with this. It's kind of structureless, and that feeling isn't great. Don't get me wrong, it's great to have variation and variety, but there's just a bit too much here in terms of song sections (not necessarily ideas/sounds/melodies). Maybe structure it so that there's two big sections, each of which gradually build and are noticeably different? I dunno. But just make sure that the listener isn't too lost. :)

BlockGhost responds:

I outed to make this a very "lost" track, or confusing in a way. But I still have very much to learn. Thanks kind person on the internet.

You sound like you're in that odd stage where you're not a noob, but you're not exactly a pro either. I'm there too. At this point, it's more useful to develop good habits than much else. I suggest that you plan out a week or two, and make yourself do certain things. Develop some beneficial habits. Make this whole thing a little more regimented, like, work harder on songs on the weekends, or even make 1 song per weekend. Then, maybe during the week, you could be generating new ideas and just saving them in a different spot than you usually save full songs, or you could do sound designing sessions where you could make your own samples for drums and wobs and stuff like Virtual Riot. Or, you could totally reverse the timing - do sound design on the weekends, and make songs during the week. It doesn't totally matter. (If the initial system is flawed, the crap will just work itself out.) Just keep in mind that whatever schedule you make has to fit in with the rest of your life. xD

It's totally up to you, but something has to happen in order for you to fully transform from noob to pro. :)

McLain1998 responds:

thank you very much means a lot to me :)

In the second drop, there needs to be more tonality. I feel like the key gets lost in the drop because there's not enough harmonic underpinning. But there's a slightly larger problem... the song doesn't feel like it's going anywhere in particular. It doesn't have the typical structure - intro, verse, build, drop, verse 2, build, drop, outro. There's no underlying structure to the song.

This seems to be a slight trend. If this is the way that you want to go, then go that way. You don't have any obligation whatsoever to listen to me. That being said, people's ears are used to structure. That "wandering" feeling is not considered to be a good feeling in music.

BUT, if you're determined to make this style of music work, then make it work. If you view it as a problem, then fix it. It just needs some attention.

Other than that, I like the style. Pretty cool.

Lot7even responds:

Thanks! The structure is wierd, mainly beacause I worked on this song for weeks, but only a little at a time. I wont do that in my other music.

It's decently accurate, but the drops have a lot of noise. I hear some cheering in the noise, so I think you just had some background FX too loud. If you want to just do a quick check that everything is at a decent volume, you can export the audio and listen to it like that. I find that anything wrong with volume becomes more noticeable that way.

Secondly, you probably ought to capitalize Wubbaduck. It's a little thing, but if you don't have something like a name capitalized, it doesn't look very professional.

Other than that, it's quite an accurate remake.

FairydustOfficial responds:

this so old :) Im are more good now ;v

Well right off the bat, it swears in the second drop, so -1* from me. Other than that, this is freaking awesome! It's kind of repetitive, but it's still got that awesome energy that I don't know how to get in my music... :/

Pretty awesome.

Hm.... not quite. It's not terrible, but it's somewhat lacking in structure.

Hey, here's something you could try: Find a dubstep song that you really like, drag it into whatever DAW you're using, and use that as a kind of structure template. Nobody will care, and your beat will be awesome.

Secondly, the whole song is kind of quiet. If you don't already know what mastering is, it's putting effects on the entire track to make it all sound nice and loud and awesome. You can look up tutorials on how to do it, or even just download a mastering chain from someone else if you don't want all the hassle of making your own.

Kinda cool.

DashSlayer25 responds:

Thanks!
And Also I Don't Know If I Can Remix Other Dubstep Tracks With LoopLabs, LoopLabs Is Kinda A Drag And Place Maker, Which Find A Sound, Place It In, You Can Make The Volume Louder And Quieter But You Might Only Can Remix Songs Made By LoopLabs Due To The Sounds They Have, And Also LoopLabs Wouldn't Know The Other Sounds Either.

But Thank You, This Is Pretty Good Of Your Comment! ;)

TERRIBLE! YOU DIDN'T ONLY USE BURPS!

THE DRUMS AREN'T BURPS! YOU LIAR!!11!1!!11111

Lol but seriously this is pretty cool xD

Lot7even responds:

No they are burps...

It's not bad, but there are a few problems. First of all, this isn't very long, so it's not very practical for someone else to use this song. Second, it's quiet, and that matters. There's a psycho-acoustic phenomenon where louder things sound better/brighter, so if you want your stuff to sound better, a decent place to start is to turn it up and see what happens.

I saw your news post about how you want to make dubstep. The first thing that you should do is read this article: https://www.edmprod.com/5-stages-electronic-music-producer/ It will equip you with the necessary mindset to get good at making music. And you'll need that, because it takes an unimaginable amount of time and effort to make even just "decent" dubstep. Then, the second thing I'd advise you to do, or rather, not do, is not to look up too many tutorials. Rely much more heavily on your personal opinions and experiences when you're working with this kind of superficial-creative sort of stuff.

In the end, I think that Shia Labeouf gave us the best advice: Just do it. :)

Honestly, I'm not sure what purpose this song serves, so I don't know what to say about this. If this was a serious exercise in music making, then I suggest that you first learn music theory. It'll take a while, but it's extremely well worth it. There's plenty of free youtube videos out there about music theory, but learning that way can be hard. I personally learned through this course on a website called Udemy: https://www.udemy.com/musictheory/learn/v4/content I think it's stellar, and it really solidified my understanding of music. If you're worried that it'll ruin your personal style, watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ll193c-mXEw

Now, if this whole song was a joke, then, uh... I think you get the message. :/

(I'm rating this 1 star so that my rating doesn't change the song's rating as much as it would otherwise. I'm indifferent to this song.)

Keep making music, and just remember: working smarter always beats working harder.

PS: If you're not feeling that great about making music, then I suggest you read this article and make up your mind about what you want to do with your musical endeavors: https://www.edmprod.com/5-stages-electronic-music-producer/

This is really cool and weird in its own way. I really like it! I might want to remix this sometime...
